Your Mission Was to Serve—Ours is to Support Your Healing
At Innova, we are honored to support both veterans and active-duty service members who have experienced Military Sexual Trauma (MST). We provide specialized, trauma-informed care in a safe and respectful environment where survivors can begin to heal. Our programs are designed to help individuals process their experiences, reclaim their sense of self, and move forward with strength and support every step of the way.
What Is Military Sexual Trauma (MST)?
Military Sexual Trauma (MST) refers to sexual assault or repeated, threatening sexual harassment experienced during military service. This can happen to anyone regardless of rank, gender, or branch of service, and can have lasting psychological, emotional, and physical impact. Research shows that 38% of women in the military report experiencing MST and survivors are four times more likely to develop Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). MST is a deeply personal trauma, and each survivor’s experience is unique.
Coercion & Pressure
Being pressured into sexual activities, either through threats of negative consequences or implied better treatment in exchange for sex.
Inability to Consent
Engaging in sexual acts while unable to consent, such as when intoxicated or asleep, constituting a violation of personal rights and safety.
Unwanted Contact & Harassment
Unwanted sexual touching, offensive remarks about one’s body or sexual activities, and unwelcome sexual advances.
Physical Violence
Being physically overpowered or restrained and forced into sexual acts against one’s will, leaving both visible and invisible scars.
The Reality of Military Sexual Trauma
Military Sexual Trauma (MST) impacts service members across all branches and backgrounds. While studies show MST is more prevalent among women veterans, it also affects men, often in ways that are underreported and misunderstood. These numbers underscore not only the widespread nature of the issue but also the importance of providing safe and compassionate support to all survivors.

Over 60% of female veterans reported experiencing sexual harrassment.

Reports of sexual assault was 45% among female veterans.

For male veterans, 5% reported experiencing sexual harrassment.

Only 3% of male veterans reported sexual assault during military service.
