About Angie
My name is Angie Polcyn, and I am pleased to introduce myself as a Clinician. I wanted to take a moment to share a little about who I am, both personally and professionally, before we meet.
A Little About Me
I bring a unique perspective to my clinical work, shaped by my personal and professional experiences. My professional and educational background encompasses clinical mental health, psychology, substance abuse, theology, and thanatology. This includes 22 years experience working in healthcare, time in the military, and raising two children as a single mother. I am passionate about walking alongside clients, meeting them wherever they are, and supporting them as they restore emotional freedom and step into a life of peace and autonomy.
My Specialty
My clinical focus is on single incident trauma, PTSD, Complex trauma, and grief, with particular interest in helping adults navigate loss by suicide, other traumatic losses, relational trauma, racial stress, religious trauma, ecological grief, and major life transitions. I approach therapy through holistic, evidence-based, and liberation-oriented modalities, drawing from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), somatic therapies, nature-based ecotherapy, and existential exploration.
Why This Work Matters to Me
This work matters deeply to me because I believe healing is not just about adapting to an unjust or overwhelming world—it is about reclaiming your agency, inherent worth, and emotional freedom. My path into counseling was shaped by the recognition that many of the heavy burdens we carry, such as grief, complex trauma, religious trauma, and systemic stress, are not individual failures, but reactions to profound pain, loss, and oppression. Seeing individuals rediscover their power and step into a life of peace and autonomy is what drives everything I do.
I look forward to connecting with you and am happy to answer any questions you may have about my background, clinical approach, or the services I offer. Thank you for taking the time to get to know me.
Warm regards,
