About CJ

“Healing is not about becoming someone new — it is about remembering who you were before you learned you had to survive.” With a background in biological and psychosocial anthropology, I approach therapy through a trauma-informed, biopsychosocial lens. I believe our struggles make sense within the context of our nervous systems, our relationships, and the environments that shaped us. Healing is not isolated from the body or from culture — it happens within both. I am especially passionate about supporting women in recovery and those healing from trauma. Many of the patterns’ women carry began as survival strategies. In our work together, my focus is on building safety, strengthening self-trust, and helping women reconnect with their resilience and reclaim their voice. My approach integrates CBT, DBT, mindfulness, somatic awareness, and experiential practices. I value steadiness, directness, and collaboration. Therapy with me is grounded, relational, and centered on creating space where you can feel both supported and accountable in your growth. In addition to my clinical training, I am a Registered Yoga Teacher and trained doula. These experiences have deepened my understanding of embodiment, transition, and the power of being witnessed in vulnerable moments. Outside of work, I value intentional living, meaningful connection, and creating environments that feel calm, restorative, and rooted.
